The results are in and I do not have the diabeetisss! Wooooot!! Not only that, but my doctor was shocked about how good my cholesterol level was, 138. Apparently that's surprising in a chunky lady. Just because I'm fluffy doesn't mean I'm knocking on deaths door! So suck it naysayers.
I'm slightly overwhelmed with work. I'm kicking ass getting trained in my new department. I'm a quick learner, so that's a bonus. My boss even told me today that she's glad she hired me and if she had to do it again she wouldn't change a thing. Which is awesome because she's been my boss for nearly 2 years and hopefully for several more in the future and it'd suck to have her regret that.
In my job we're gearing up for a merger that takes place officially March 3rd- which is a Saturday- so come Monday morning we'll have 26,000 new accounts in our queues. TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND ACCOUNTS. In case you wanted that in laymans terms it's a shit ton. I like to think of it as job security. My company, Huge Financial Institution That Did Not Require a Bailout, is going around just eating these little floundering companies. It was nerve wracking at first, because every so often we have a meeting where we hear of this particular branch closing, or that particular branch, and then we're told to be sensitive to those people if we have any contact with them and it's so sad yet we're all so relieved. Relieved because our site and our sister site in Ranch Cucamonga, CA, are the power houses that are pretty much indestructible. For now. One day the tides may turn on us, hopefully by that time I'm far enough up in the company to not be effected so much and have the ability to maneuver among the different sites.
Until then, we have mandatory overtime beginning this week including Saturday's and so it's looking like I'm going to be ridiculously busy for a while.
