Is it a boy? Is it a girl?

Today was the day. Tom and I found out this morning that our nugget is in deed a girl. I'm both ecstatic and terrified about this. On the one hand I'm super stoked to have a crafting/baking partner. On the other hand I know girls, and I hope to dear sweet baby Jesus she doesn't take too much after me. And the boys. Good God the boys that Tom and I will have to scare into submission. Shit.

We went and registered at Babies R Us today right after the doctor's appointment. That was both tons of fun and kind of confusing. There's a TON of things out there guys and some things I just don't think are really necessary (your child's pacifier doesn't need it's very own carrying case) and some things I have no idea what you need them for (a humidifier? Why?) and then there's all these neat little items that make things much easier (a rubber ducky that has the bath water temperature that shows underneath it).

So good Lord, there's a ton of things that we need for the nugget. The crib and the fancy stroller are covered by the grandparents which is a huge relief and so nice of them. That still means there's 12,334,358 things on the list. Babies are a lot of work ya'll  and she's still cookin'!

  1. Congrats! Little girls are so much fun! :) Time to start your name list- yay!! Registering is overwhelming.. all of the weird things you don't think you need (and- oddly enough, pacifier cases are really nice when you have to travel and you want to keep the thing clean and not waste a ton of baggies!) I will tell you too- the rubber duckies don't work so well haha I couldn't believe how many first aid items I had to restock on... nasal aspirator (ick), ear thermometer etc. BABIES!

  2. So you're having a Khaleesi :)
May she be the mare who mounts the world... whatever that means.
Seriously, though, very exciting news!! Congrats!

    1. You know, I tried-and tried hard to get Khaleesi considered as a name. The husband is really resistant to it.

  4. Congratulations! And really, you should keep pushing for Khaleesi. The wife admitted she would totally call our child that if we had a girl.
