Sample Society

There's a craze going around lately. A sample craze. 


If you're not familiar with this craze here's the DL on it. 


For a minimal price you can pay for a box of samples to be delivered to you every month. There's all kinds of sample boxes out there, from food to cosmetics to babies to pets, if you can think it- there is a box out there full of samples waiting to be sent to you.


Birchbox is the most popular cosmetic sample box right now. It even has a wait list for it. Lucky for me my hubby just signed me up for it, so my first Birchbox will be arriving for me in the next week. Incase you're interested, this box is $10 a month and you can sign up here.


I signed myself up for a new sample box. Allure (the magazine) and beautybar.com joined up to make a new box. Sample Society- it markets as an upscale sample box so this one goes for $15 a month. Since I just got it this afternoon, I haven't used anything except the perfume. I cannot wait to get busy trying these products out though. The perfume, Oscar de la Renta or no, it's terrible. It makes me smell like an old lady and on the eve of my 29th birthday, that's the last thing I want to smell like.


UPDATE: I just used the Dermalogic Daily Microfoliant and I am a fan. My skin feels amazing. I tend to be pretty oily and so I hate feeling my face, but I just asked my husband to rub my face. I've never, in the 6 years I've been with him, asked him to do that. I love this product. On the Beauty Bar site the full sized product goes for $40. I get $15 off a $50 purchase when a product from any of my samples is included in my order- that makes it worth it!
