Bonus post: Mommy car time!

So I mentioned before that last year in a fit of crazy... IDK maybe I was trying to hold on to my youth, rebel against age, or just wanted to be seduced by the insane- I purchased a VW convertible Beetle for my birthday. This is the most non-practical thing I could have done for a few reasons.

Sure it's cute, but will it crank?

Mainly because I got it from a shady dealership that closed less than 2 months after I purchased it which is about the time it began to fall apart. It was fun, sure yeah with the top down zipping around town. However, you know what wasn't fun? Having the engine begin to sound like an airplane taking off. Having the car not turn on when you try to crank it unless it's sat for about half an hour and you hit the gas at the same time- apparently a fuel pump issue. Also not fun, the way it destroyed gas. Like it just made gas evaporate.

Which is why as soon as I became impregnanted with my grape (it's a grape this week) I knew that I had to get a grown up, baby friendly car.

So I bought a brand spanking new 2012 Toyota Corolla last night (in a lovely Roll Tide red, might I add). It's super safe and dependable. My Japanese grandmother will be thrilled because it's a Japanese car, my cracker grandparents will be thrilled because it's so much safer than the "death trap" Bug I was rocking. And when my grape comes out it'll be a safe ride for him/her/it.

Mommy status, ya'll.

    1. Not gonna lie, I'm a little jealous I didn't get on that before I went thousands into debt...

  2. I want a new car. :-(

    *jealous*

But seriously, I'm currently saving every penny (which isn't much) in the hope that I'll be able to get a new car within the next year or two. It's hard. :-(

    1. No one is more shocked than I am that I got a brand new car. My credit is crap and so is my husbands and I have zero dollars as a down payment. I did have a crappy VW bug though and we told them the deal and what we refused to go over a month and lo-and-behold- I got myself a new car.

  5. Hahaha, I know EXACTLY what you mean about getting a mommy car! When my dear beloved bug took its last flight, I had to get something new... and I ended up making the "responsible" choice rather than another bug. I just couldn't justify it.

However, once my future hypothetical kiddles are a little older, it's open season. VWBeetle, here I come again!

Love your blog-- glad I stopped here on my A to Z hop! <3
